Cleopatra, Lenfest Center for the Arts, Columbia University, April 2022.

Cleopatra is a performance about the making of an icon and a response to Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra. Captured from the toxic hallucinations of Shakespeare’s characters Charmian, Iras, Alexas and Mardian. Their memories are held delicately on a chain curtain projection surface; this image wavers, doubles, blurs, and breaks as they struggle to piece together the social and political chaos that surrounds Cleopatra.
